Digital education for one difficult life stage

Your dog didn’t forget everything they learned. They’re an adolescent.

Somewhere after 6 months the recall stops working at the park, the leash pulling comes back, and guests get jumped on. Owners read that as failure, or as their dog going backwards. It is development, it is temporary, and it has an order to it.

3 minutes, free, and there is no email address to give.

What it sells

Method
Reward-based, no aversive tools
Promised outcome
None. Ever.

01The stage

One stage, understood deeply

Most training advice is written for “dogs” in general, puppy through senior, so none of it speaks to the animal in front of you. Halfgrown covers 6 to 24 months and refuses to cover anything else.

Figure 1 — everything we teach lives inside the shaded band. The brain in there is temporarily worse at impulse control than it was at 4 months, which is the part nobody tells you.

02The 9pm list

What it looks like, in your words

  • Ignores me at the park

Recall worked at 5 months. Then came the squirrel.

  • Pulls the whole walk

The loose leash you built has quietly left the building.

  • Jumps on every guest

All 4 feet leave the floor at the sound of the doorbell.

  • Steals food off the counter

One unattended sandwich, one new training problem.

  • Can't settle in the evening

Visibly tired, still pacing the hallway at 9pm.

  • Barks at things that were fine last month

    The neighbourhood got louder, apparently.

You have already tried the videos, a puppy class, more treats, and repeating yourself louder. The result is a pile of contradictory fragments and no idea which one to do tonight. What you are short of is order, not content.

03The pattern

Five problems, usually one pattern

Owners arrive believing they have 5 separate problems and 1 badly behaved dog. Most of the time there is a single developmental thing sitting underneath all of them.

  • Ignores me at the park
  • Pulls the whole walk
  • Jumps on every guest
  • Barks at the window
  • Can't settle in the evening

One pattern underneath

At 11 months, your dog can’t disengage from movement yet.

“Where this comes from” sits directly under that sentence, already open, so you can check it.

Named, your dog stops being broken and becomes explainable. That one sentence is the product. Everything after it is only the order you work in.

04How it will work

The order, start to finish

  1. Assessment

Your dog's name and age, a checklist of problems in your words, then 3 follow-up questions. Never more than 3.

    Under 3 minutes
  2. Result

Your dog's stage, the cluster of problems named, and the one pattern connecting them.

    Free, no email
  3. Your Plan

A single column of Days. Each Day is one Session, with the minutes it takes printed on it.

    Days 1 to 3 open
  4. Day 1

3 steps, what good looks like, and what to do if your dog isn't getting it. Then you close the tab.

    8 minutes with your dog

Plate 3 — 10 months old, mid-Session. Lying down. Not yet convinced.

No account before the Result. No payment before 3 real Sessions are done. One Session a day, 5 to 10 minutes, so that “I didn’t have time” is never true.

There is nothing to configure. Halfgrown sends one Session a day, and that is the only setting there will ever be.

05What we stand for

Sources instead of a famous name

There is no trainer’s face on this company. What we offer in its place is a visible evidence trail and a short list of things we will not do.

  • Where this comes from

Developmental, veterinary and behavioural claims are grounded in reputable published sources, and the trail stays visible on the page.

  • Humane, reward-based methods only

No aversive tools are sold, recommended or affiliated. There is no exception to this rule.

  • No outcome is ever promised

We will not promise you a behaviour change on a date. Nobody honest can.

  • No borrowed authority

Halfgrown is published by an experienced dog owner, not a veterinarian, a behaviourist or an accredited trainer. We say so on every page.

  • The same offer on a Tuesday

No countdown timers, no manufactured scarcity, no value stacks, and no testimonial we were not given.

Get help now

Some things need a person who can see your dog. Aggression, a bite, severe fear or anxiety, a sudden unexplained change in behaviour, suspected pain or illness, or anything dangerous: stop, and contact a veterinarian or a qualified behaviour professional.

When an answer trips one of those, the flow stops. No Plan is generated and nothing is offered for sale. That is a hard rule in the content and in the code.
